Seawolves Host 22nd Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Purpoodock
CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine – Southern Maine Community College Athletics, in partnership with the SMCC Foundation and Seawolves Athletic Club, hosted the 22nd Annual SMCC Seawolves Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Monday, June 22, at Purpoodock Golf Club.
Supported by title sponsor Sodexo Dining Services and a strong community of alumni, partners, friends, and supporters, the tournament once again served as the signature fundraising event for SMCC Athletics. Proceeds from the event directly support student-athlete experiences, facility enhancements, and future program initiatives across Seawolves Athletics.
Despite rain in the forecast, participants were greeted by ideal playing conditions and completed the event before any weather arrived. The tournament featured a full-field shotgun start, bringing teams together for a day of competition, camaraderie, and support of SMCC student-athletes.
“For the past 22 years the SMCC Athletics and Foundation Golf tournament has been the signature fundraiser for the Seawolves Athletic Club supporting the student athlete experience,” stated Chief of Institutional Advancement and Engagement Matt Richards. “Bringing our alumni, campus community, supporters of athletics, and corporate sponsors together for a day of golf, comradery, and raising funds for the Athletic Department is very rewarding to be a part of. Thank you to all our participants and business partners for making it a great day”
