AUGUSTA, Maine – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball turned in a consistent offensive performance and received a solid outing from its pitching staff to earn an 8-3 victory over the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) in a conference road game on Monday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Tyler Herkalo (Parkton, Maryland) led the offensive charge, finishing 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs, three runs scored, and a stolen base. Zach Oliver (Gloucester, Massachusetts) added two hits, including a double and an RBI, while freshman Alex Barlett (Thomaston, Maine) launched a solo homer in the fifth—his first of the season.
On the mound, Noah Gaghan (Brunswick, Maine) got the start and earned the win, working four innings and allowing two runs. He was backed by solid relief work from Adam Rowland (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada), who scattered four hits over three innings, and Noah Hebert (Candia, NH), who struck out two in a clean eighth. Dante Tocci (Portland, Maine) closed the game with a scoreless ninth.
