Bio
AJ Burton begins his third season as Head Golf Coach. In his first year, Burton broke a 10-year drought and captured a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) championship (2021), and repeated again in 2022. In both years, Burton's teams qualified for United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament appearances- carding seventh and sixth place finishes respectfully. Further, Burton was named YSCC Coach of the Year and USCAA National Coach of the Year in 2022. During his tenture, Burton has produced four All-Conference selections and two Academic All-Americans.
A Michigan native, Burton attended St. Clair County Community College before transferring to Rochester College to achieve his bachelor's degree in Sport Management (2014). Burton continued his path in higher education at the University of Detroit Mercy where he earned his master's degree and completed a graduate assistantship in the athetic department (2016).
In addition to his duties on the course, Burton serves as an Advisor for the College, Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach, and an adjunct faculty member in the Sport Management degree program.
