Men’s Soccer Closes Out Season After Championship Run
POTTERSVILLE, N.Y. – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men’s soccer team saw its 2025 campaign come to a close on Sunday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Central Maine Community College (CMCC) in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championship match.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first half in which both sides battled for control, the second half belonged to the Mustangs, who tallied four unanswered goals to claim the win.
CMCC broke through in the 52nd minute when Daniel Semple finished off a setup from Albie Fozard-Oakes to make it 1-0. Just five minutes later, the Mustangs doubled the lead on a goal by Fozard-Oakes, assisted by Yoan Thériault.
Down to 10 men following a red card issued to Amisi Ngomu (Westbrook, Maine) in the 70th minute, the Seawolves conceded again shortly after. Mikel Soto converted a penalty kick to stretch the deficit to 3-0.
CMCC sealed the match with a fourth goal in the 82nd minute from Drew Hatala.

Lufumbu played all 90 minutes in net, turning away four of eight shots on goal.

- The Seawolves finish the season with an 11-4-2 overall record and a 7-1 mark in YSCC play.
- SMCC outscored opponents 67-19 on the year, earning eight shutouts and averaging 4.19 goals per game.
