Lady Seawolves Win Big at UNH
Durham, NH - Tonight the Lady Seawolves picked up a big win under the lights at UNH where they defeated the Lady Wildcats 12-4 in five innings.
Durham, NH - Tonight the Lady Seawolves picked up a big win under the lights at UNH where they defeated the Lady Wildcats 12-4 in five innings.
The Lady Seawolves batted around the order in the first inning, jumping out to a 8-0 lead. UNH countered with a run in the second but SMCC answered with one run in the third making the score 9-1 in favor of the Seawolves. Both teams put three runs on the board in the fourth giving SMCC the 12-4 lead which fell to the eight run rule in the fifth. Catcher Anna Allard (Parsonsfield, ME) let the Lady Seawolves offense going three for three at the plate with two RBIs, a triple and three runs. Melinda Pye (Bucksport, ME) chipped in three RBIs and two stolen bases while got two for three at the plate.
Pitcher Erica Brochu (Lewiston, ME) grabbed the win for the Lady Seawolves, pitching three innings, allowing four hits and four runs. Relief pitcher Charlotte Lewis (Chatham, NH) pitched the final two innings only allowing three hits and giving up no runs.
With this win the Lady Seawolves advance to 2-0 overall and in conference play. They are back on the road tomorrow, September 13th, at NHTI for a double header starting at noon.
