Lady Seawolves Drop Pair to Farmington
Farmington - The Beavers took both games of today's double header against the Lady Seawolves by a decisive margin, winning the first game 7-2 and taking game two 16-3.
Farmington - The Beavers took both games of today's double header against the Lady Seawolves by a decisive margin, winning the first game 7-2 and taking game two 16-3.
Game one started out as a pitching dual until the bottom of the fifth inning when Seawolves' shortstop Anna Allard (Parsonsfield, ME) scored a run off a Melinda Pye (Bucksport, ME) hit to tie the game at 1-1. The Beavers answered in a big way in the top of the sixth when they rattled off six runs. Pye hit Allard home again in the seventh to give the Seawolves their second run of the game but Beavers held on to take the 7-2 win. Pye went 3-4 on the afternoon with two RBIs while Allard went 2-3.
In the second game of the double header the Lady Seawolves committed seven errors in five innings, allowing the Beavers to score six runs in the first, four in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth. The Lady Seawolves three runs all game in the fourth inning when Charlotte Lewis (Chatham, NH) crossed the plate on a Zoey Proctor (Rockland, ME) RBI. Erica Brochu (Lewiston, ME) and Danielle Mobbs (Richmond, VT) both scored off a Hanna Campbell (Wiscasset, ME) double. Brochu led the offense with a 2-3 performance to go along with one run.
The Lady Seawolves will take the field again on October 4th for the NECA softball tournament at SMCC. The time of the contest is still TBA.
