SMCC Women Drop Final Home Game to Machias
The Southern Maine Community College women's basketball team lost to visiting University of Maine- Machias this evening 59-50. The Seawolves opened up with an impressive first half that found them up by 10 at halftime. UMaine-Machias held the Seawolves to just 18 second half points to take the victory.
In her final game at HUB Gymnasium, sophomore point guard Hanna Lyons (Scarborough, ME) led the Seawolves with 10 rebounds, 4 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Freshman guard Katelyn Benson (Westbrook, ME) led the scoring drive with 14 points while also contributing 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
The Seawolves are now 14-11 overall and 10-6 in conference play. The women play their final regular season game at Hampshire College on Saturday, February 18th at 1:00 PM.
