Seawolves Drop First Game Back
South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team dropped their first game of the spring semester. The Lady Seawolves lost to traveling opponent John Abbott College (JAC) by a final score of 71-64. SMCC was up at half by a score of 36-26 but couldn't hang on.
The Lady Seawolves were led in a losing effort by freshman forward Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) who led the scoring with 12 points. Deng also added 9 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists. Freshman forward Alicia Hoyt (Steep Falls, ME) chipped in 10 points and 3 rebounds. Freshamn forward Jaimi Poland (Skowhegan, ME) came off the bench with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
SMCC falls to 9-5 overall and remains 5-3 in conference play. The Seawolves are back in action this Thursday, January 10th, as they travel to Nashua College. Game time is scheduled for 6:00PM.
