Seawolves Get Big Conference Win
Bangor, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team picked up a big conference win tonight against Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) by a score of 77-50. This is the second time this season the Seawolves were able to beat the Golden Eagles. The Seawolves started out strong and were able to gain an early lead as they were up at half time by a score of 43-21.
The Seawolves had an all around effort as every player chipped in. SMCC was led by freshman forward Alicia Hoyt (Steep Falls, ME) who shot 50% from the floor with 17 points. Hoyt also contributed 8 rebounds with 7 coming on the offensive end. Sophomore guard Emily Bard(Fort Kent, ME) added 11 points while freshman forward Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
