South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team dropped a game at home to Dean College by a score of 67-39. The Lady Seawolves were down at half time by a score of 37-18 and were never able to recover as the Bulldogs shot 40% from the floor.
The Lady Seawolves were led in a losing effort by freshman forward Katryna Gilson (Portland, ME) who had 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Freshman forward Alicia Hoyt (Steep Falls, ME) chipped in 7 points and 6 rebounds while freshman point guard Tiana Burton (Brunswick, ME) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
SMCC moves to 12-7 overall and remains 6-3 in conference play. The Seawolves are back in action this Wednesday January 30, as they travel to Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Unity College. Game time is scheduled for 8:00PM.
