Auburn, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team season came to a close as they fell to rival Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Central Maine Community College (CMCC) in the YSCC tournament tonight by a score of 81-33. CMCC had the hot hand from the beginning shooting better then 41% from the floor and out scored SMCC in the first half 43-8.
Leading the way for the Seawolves was in a losing effort was freshman forward Jaimi Poland (Skowhegan, ME) with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Junior guard Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) added 7 points and a pair of steals while freshman forward Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) chipped in 4 points and 7 rebounds.
SMCC ends their season at 17-9 overall and 11-5 in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC).
