SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—2018-19 was the Year of the SeaWolf as the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) athletics department compiled one of the most dominant year’s in varsity school history and conference affiliation. Here is a look at the numbers based on the six program offerings.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—At the conclusion of the semester, Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Director of Athletics Matt Richards published the findings of the semi-annual Spring 2019 Athletics Engagement and Academic Report. The report shows student-athlete GPAs and retention rates based on United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) normal progress rules for athletic participation eligibility.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Athletics Department held its annual awards banquet on Tuesday, May 7 at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn in celebration of its student-athletes and their many successes throughout the 2018-19 academic year and athletic seasons.

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine— Join us on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 on the links at Purpoodock Golf Club in Cape Elizabeth, Maine for a fun-filled day of golf. It is the mission of SMCC Athletics to continuously better the student-athlete experience, thus all of the proceeds of this 15th Annual SMCC Athletics Golf Tournament, hosted by the Southern Maine Community College Foundation and the SeaWolves Athletic Club, will help fund the athletic program offerings at SMCC.

SMCC Women Wrap Season On High Note

UNIONTOWN, Penn.—The #8-seeded Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball program finished the 2018-19 season with a 61-50 victory over #10 University of Maine at Machias (UMM) in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament consolation round on Monday, Mar. 4.

SeaWolves Short In First Round Of USCAA National Tourney

UNIONTOWN, Penn.—The #8-seeded Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team was defeated 67-62 by the host and #9 Nittany Lions of Penn State University Fayette in the first round of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament on Sunday, March 3.

UNIONTOWN, Penn.—After a one-year hiatus, both Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men’s and women’s basketball teams get back to Uniontown, Penn. receiving at-large bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division 2 Basketball National Tournament. The tournament begins Sunday, Mar. 3 following the skills competition and the championship awards banquet on Saturday, Mar. 2.

Lady Wolves Finish Runners-Up At YSCC Championships

AUBURN, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team finished as runners-up in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championship Tournament over the weekend—defeating the University of Maine at Machias (UMM) on Saturday, Feb. 23, but coming up short to Central Maine Community College (CMCC) on Sunday, Feb. 24.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The #2-seeded Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team dominated the #7 Rams from Unity College 85-31 in the quarter final round of the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) playoff tournament on Sunday, Feb. 17.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team defeated the Rams from Springfield Technical Community College 91-55 in a non-conference contest on Sunday, Feb. 10.

SeaWolves Solidify YSCC #2 Seed With Comeback Victory at VTC

RANDOPLH, Vt.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team used a fourth quarter comeback to overcome the Knights of Vermont Technical College (VTC) in the final Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) regular season contest Saturday, Feb. 9.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team was defeated 62-55 by the Mustangs from Central Maine Community College (CMCC) in part-two of the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) rivalry Wednesday, Feb. 6.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team defeated the Lynx from NHTI 75-49 in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) tilt at The HUB on Thursday, Jan. 31.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team continued its perfect streak at The HUB defeating the Bulldogs from Bunker Hill Community College 69-38 in a non-conference game on Sunday, Jan. 27.
