Bio
Patrick Haviland enters his 22nd season as an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball program at Southern Maine Community College.
Haviland has helped guide the program to a 364-181 overall record (.667 win%), five conference titles, 11 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament appearances, and has coached 14 All-American selections along the way.
Most recently, Haviland was inducted into the SMCC Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 2022 class.
Haviland’s primary basketball responsibilities include player development, academic accountability, and recruitment. In addition to his commitment to the basketball program, Haviland started in Enrollment Services in 2005 and transitioned to the Office of Student Success, then Advising, and currently leads the Spring Ahead Program in the Early College Office. His knowledge in this area has proven a valuable asset to the team's recruitment and engagement efforts and a resource for student-athletes within the department.
A native of Vermont, Haviland resides in South Portland with his wife Ashley and daughers Charlotte and Lilah.
