HOW IT HAPPENED:
SMCC controlled the opening set from the service line. Yana Montell (Gardiner, Maine) jumpstarted a mid-set burst with a string of aces, while Lilly Andreasen (Gorham, Maine) and Meryk Lewellen (Gorham, Maine) finished with swings to close it 25–12.
The Seawolves erased an early deficit in set two and flipped the frame. Amala Rumma set the tempo and added an ace, Elise Kaplan (Cumberland, Maine) and Mikayla Bellman (Silver Spring, Md.) chipped in kills, and Allison Fraser (Harrington, Maine) sealed the set with back-to-back aces for 25–15.
Set three belonged to SMCC's serves. Dalia Nelson (Kennebunk, Maine) created a decisive run with multiple aces to create separation, Sivan Semo (Rollinsford, N.H.) scored through the middle, and another late Rumma run set up Kaplan to finish the sweep, 25–13.
