GAME ONE
SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball dropped the opener of Tuesday's Yankee Small College Conference doubleheader, falling 3-0 to York County Community College (YCCC) at Graves Athletic Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Hawks struck for all three of their runs in the top of the third inning, capitalizing on a pair of hits and an error. That was enough support for YCCC starter Batson, who fired a complete-game two-hitter.
The Seawolves threatened in the fourth when Dom Smith (Biddeford, Maine) doubled and moved to third, but he was left stranded. Quinntin Gillies (Oshawa, Ontario) added SMCC's other hit, also a double.

GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED:
York carried its momentum into game two, scoring in four of the first five innings to hand SMCC a 9-2 defeat and complete the sweep.
The Hawks opened the scoring with a run in the first, then plated three in the second to build a 4-1 lead. They added one in the third and broke things open with a four-run fifth.
Alex Bartlett (Thomaston, Maine) paced the Seawolves' offense with a 3-for-3 effort, including an RBI double in the first inning. Samuel Potié (Gatineau, Quebec) doubled and scored in the fourth, while Tristan Laplante (Durham, Maine) drove him in with an RBI groundout.
Noah Hebert (Candia, N.H.) took the loss, working 2.0 innings, while Noah Gaghan (Brunswick, Maine) and Mattias Cobham (Saint John, Canada) combined for the final five frames.
