Close Call: Seawolves Come Up Short in Bridgton

BRIDGTON, MAINE – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball came up short on Tuesday night, falling 9-8 in a non-conference matchup at Bridgton Academy.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Seawolves opened strong, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding one in the second to take a 4-3 lead. They tacked on another in the third and plated three in the sixth, holding an 8-7 advantage late.

Bridgton, however, delivered the final blow with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth to jump ahead. SMCC put runners on base in the seventh but couldn't push across the tying run as the Wolverines closed out the one-run victory.
