South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team fell to Community College of Rhode Island this afternoon 101-43. CCRI had the hot hand from the beginning, shooting 57% from the floor including 50% from behind the three-point arc in the first half.
Leading the way for the Seawolves was freshmen Rogetta Donalson (Hyannis, MA) with a game high 22 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal, and Maria Veino (Sanford, ME) with 7 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Freshman forward Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) pulled down 7 rebounds for SMCC.
SMCC moves to 3-1 overall and remains 1-0 in conference play. The women are in action again tomorrow, November 4th when they face the Naval Academy Preparatory School at 4:00 PM. The game is available to view on-line at http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/smcc.portal.
