South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team beat Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent College of St. Joe's of Vermont by a score of 49-36. The Seawolves are now 3-0 in conference play.
The Seawolves needed everybody as nine players grabbed atleast one rebound. The Seawolves were led by freshman forward Maria Veino (Sanford, ME) who had fourteen rebounds. Guards Yaritza Tejada (Chelsea, MA) and Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) led the scoring with eight points a piece.
SMCC (6-1 overall, 3-0 YSCC) is in action again this weekend when they travel to University of Maine Presque Isle (UMPI). Game is scheduled for November 25 at 11:00AM.
