South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team bounced back after a tough loss on Wednesday. They beat Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) by a score of 65-40. The Seawolves started out strong shooting almost 50% from the floor and led 36-19 at half.
The Seawolves had an all around effort as 12 out of the 13 players scored. Junior guard Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) led the scoring with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Freshman guard Rogetta Donalson (Hyannis, MA) came off the bench with sophomore guard Emily Bard (Fort Kent, ME) to each add 12 points. Donalson also added 4 steals, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
SMCC improves to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The Seawolves are back in action Wednesday December 12th as they travel to YSCC opponent University of Maine Augusta (UMA). Game time is scheduled for 6:00PM.
