Seawolves Bounce Back with Win
Nashua, NH. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team bounced back after a tough loss on Saturday. They traveled to New Hampshire to take on the Jaguars of Nashua College. The Seawolves opened up a big lead in the beginning with a half time score of 48-9 and never looked back. The Seawolves finished shooting better then 55% from the floor and won by a score of 91-20.
The Seawolves had an all around effort as all 9 players scored. SMCC was led by Junior guard Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) who scored 19 points, 9 assists, 7 steals and 2 rebounds. Ssophomore guard Emily Bard(Fort Kent, ME) also had 19 points but added 6 steals and 3 assists. Starting point guard Tiana Burton (Brunswick, ME) chipped in with 12 points, 8 steals, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
SMCC improves to 10-5 overall and remain 5-3 in conference play. The Seawolves are back in action Tuesday January 15th when they host Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI). Game time is scheduled for 6:00PM.
