Athletics Engagement and Academic Report: Spring 2025

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—At the conclusion of the semester, Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Interim Director of Athletics Ethan Wells published the findings of the semi-annual Spring 2025 Athletics Engagement and Academic Report. The report shows student-athlete GPAs and retention rates based on United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) normal progress rules for athletic participation eligibility—a higher threshold than those standards of the College.

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Athletic Department held its annual awards banquet on Tuesday, May 6 at Purpoodock Golf Club in celebration of its student-athletes and their many successes throughout the 2024-25 academic year and athletic seasons.

SOUTH PORTLAND, ME – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team’s season came to a close in the YSCC Semifinals on Saturday afternoon, as the Seawolves fell 82-67 to top-seeded Maine-Augusta.

SMCC Women’s Basketball Advances to YSCC Final Four with Gritty 66-60 Win Over Vermont 

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The #4-seeded Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s basketball team battled back from a first-half deficit to defeat #5-seeded Vermont State University Randolph 66-60 on Saturday afternoon at The HUB Athletic Center, securing a spot in the YSCC Final Four.
