HOW IT HAPPENED:
SMCC absorbed an early push in the opener before flipping the set with a mid-frame serving surge. Yana Montell (Gardiner, Maine) sparked the run at the line while Lilly Andreasen (Gorham, Maine), Meryk Lewellen (Gorham, Maine), and Kadie Madera (Sanford, Maine) supplied timely swings. The Seawolves closed it out 26–24.
Set two see-sawed to the teens until SMCC created separation behind great serving. The Seawolves strung together points to secure a 25–23 result.
The third belonged to the Seawolves' serve-pass game. Early aces from Andreasen, a momentum-changing run with Lewellen on the attack, and a pair of deliveries from Kaplan finalized the frame at 25–17, allowing the Seawolves to complete the 3-0 sweep.
