HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Mustangs broke out of the gate with five runs in the first inning and never looked back, adding two in the second and three more in the third to put the game out of reach early.
The Seawolves pushed across both of their runs in the bottom of the first. Tyler Herkalo (Parkton, Md.) tripled and scored on a groundout by Landon Sirois (Biddeford, Maine). Thomas Marcotte (Acushnet, Mass.) later singled home Michael Pierce (Greenfield, Mass.), who had drawn a walk.
On the mound, Cole Payne (Bangor, Maine) started and was tagged with the loss, while Noah Peterson (Naples, Maine) provided 4.1 innings of steady relief, striking out three.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Seawolves regrouped in game two, using a five-run sixth inning to rally past Central Maine for a 5-4 victory and split the day.
SMCC trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth but broke through with six straight batters reaching safely. Dom Smith (Biddeford, Maine) sparked the frame with a double, while Michael Pierce delivered the go-ahead two-run single. Samuel Potié (Gatineau, Quebec) added an RBI single, and Alex Bartlett (Thomaston, Maine) doubled and scored as the Seawolves grabbed the lead.
On the mound, freshman Trent Collin (Readfield, Maine) impressed in his first start, striking out six over four innings. Mattias Cobham (Saint John, Canada) earned the win in relief, tossing two innings with two strikeouts, and Michael Pierce closed the door in the seventh for his first save.
